Robotics/ Advanced Robotics

This elective is designed for students who are interested in a hands-on approach to the basics of robotics. The course focuses on programming, the engineering design process, construction of autonomous robots, and the application of robots in society. Students work in groups and are given challenges for teams to design, build, and program robots to achieve the set goal objectives. The practical skills prepare students for career pathways in areas such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science.

In Advanced Robotics, students continue to develop their programming and mechanical engineering design skills. Students also design and free-build robots to meet various challenges with the potential to participate in local robotic competitions and field trips. This course may also include units on soldering circuit boards, basic electronic circuits, 3D laser printer design, and 3D printing.
