About Us

BUENA PARK MIDDLE SCHOOL is a California Distinguished School (2024) offering sixth through eighth grade students a wide variety of electives and programs. All sixth, seventh and eighth grade students take seven periods, two of which are elective classes. Signature electives include:

VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS: Art (beginning and advanced), Band (beginning and advanced), Choir, Orchestra, and Percussion (drumline).

STEM: 3D Modeling & Design (Project Lead the Way), Computer Science/ Coding, Femineer Program, Ag Science, Industrial Arts, and Robotics (beginning and advanced). 

CULINARY (beginning and advanced)

COMMUNICATION & DIGITAL MEDIA: Journalism, Leadership, and Yearbook.

ADVANCEMENT VIA INDIVIDUAL DETERMINATION (AVID): We implement this comprehensive approach to learning schoolwide, focusing on preparing students for success in school and career. 

HONORS PROGRAM: We offer a rigorous Honors Academy that challenges our gifted and high-achieving students to go into greater depth and complexity with the curriculum.
