The Femineer Program at Buena Park Middle School was created and funded by Cal Poly Pomona's College of Engineering to inspire girls to pursue STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) career pathways. Buena Park Middle School was one of only 50 schools invited to participate.
National Red Ribbon Week ran from October 23 - October 31 across the Buena Park School District with the theme, "Be Kind to Your Mind: Live Drug Free."
The new Fresh Fruit and Vegetable grant recently awarded to the Buena Park School District Nutritional Services is up and running at Gilbert, Pendleton, and Whitaker Elementary Schools, where a vendor provides both California Grown produce from small farms and a lesson about the food items and their origins.
Burlington Coat Factory of Buena Park has adopted the students of Pendleton Elementary School and provided a $5,000 grant for school supplies to benefit all scholars at the school, from preschool through fifth grade.
